I had air conditioning work done and they ripped the PVC membrane. Does Radon Assurance cover this?
While we prefer to have the service provider which tore the membrane repair the damage, we will repair small cuts or holes in membrane if the AC company refuses to do so. We provide this service free of charge.
My Radon System started making to much noise.
What can you do about this?
We will sole the issue. Some fans start making weird noises as they age. We will send out a Radon Assurance technician to attempt to solve the issue at no cost to you. If the technician cannot solve the issue, we will replace the system in accordance with our assurance program.
A pipe bust and flooded the crawl space. The water separated the plastic barer from the wall and pushed most of the PVC membrane to one side of the house. Is this covered?
Unfortunately, we do not cover damage to the Radon System when the damage is caused by acts of God, fire or caused by another system in the home. We can send a technician to look at the issue and give you advice on the best way to solve the problem. There will not be a cost for the technician’s services.
When is there a charge for services provided?
Radon Assurance only charges for replacing mechanical systems in the first three years of having a service contract. If the mechanical system quits working in the first year of the having a contract, the cost of a new system will be $200. If the mechanical system quits working in the second year of having a contract, the cost of the new system will be $150. If the mechanical system quits working in the third year of having a contract, the cost of the new system will be $100. After the third year of having a contract with Radon Assurance, there will never be a fee for replacing the system.
I have a contract with Radon Assurance for 6 years. Radon Assurance replaced my system two years ago for free. My new system quit working. Is there a service charge for replacing the new system because I have only had it for two years?
No, there is never a service charge or any kind of charge after the third year of having a service contract with Radon Assurance. It does not mater if we have to replace the system every year, there will never be a charge after the third year of having a contract with Radon Assurance.
The hurricane damaged the exhaust pipe on the exterior of my home. Is this covered?
Technically, no. However, Smith and Smith Contracting provides repairs for this type of damage, and they usually do not charge if you have a service contract with Radon Assurance and it is a simple repair. If the damage is extensive, they do charge a small service fee — usually under $100.
